Description:
Solar cells are now a standard high tech product. However, current thin film solar cells use rare and expensive materials like indium. With decreasing manufacturing costs of the modules material prices will become more important. In our project we look for alternative materials for solar cells which will be relevant in future generation solar cells.
Within a joint cooperative project of several Universities and research institutes we will prepare at the University of Mainz new thin film materials and characterize the inner interfaces of solar cell structures by high energy photoemission using our synchrotron measurement facilities. The material we grow will serve as absorber material in p-i-n type solar cells.
The candidate should have a good knowledge on solid state physics and/or thin film technology. Social competence is needed for integration in a research team as well as for a llimited amount of teaching obligations at the University. Fluency in English is a must, knowledge of German will be helpful.
Start of the project will be in October 2009

My academic career is first class throughout from S SC to M Sc in physics;me stood first in the university of punjab physics department lahore for session 1992 -1994 by securing marks 894/1200 with distincion.Presently i am serving as lecturer in physics at govt postgraduate college jhelum since last 12 years;many of my students have secured maximum marks in physics both in federal board as well as in rawalpindi board and get enrolled in medical,engineering universities in pakistan & abroad.Accordig to results announced by rawalpindi board this year, one of my students Luqman has secured marks 185/200 which may be varified.I am seeking full scholarship in devising highly efficient solar cells modules & panels from an internationally well recognized university. I have already delivered lectures in different seminars as a resource person conducted under environmental ministry of pakistan.it is must for us to introduce renewable resources of energy,specially solar energy to limitize ever increasing environmental pollution , entropy to save humanity & fragile earth
