<strong>International Graduate Program for Advanced Science (lGPAS)-Application deadline is January 31, 2009.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">International Graduate Program for Advanced Science (IGPAS) is an interdisciplinary graduate program in the <a href="http://beasiswabelajar.com/education/tag/graduate-scholarship">Graduate School of Science</a>, Tohoku University.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>It was established in October 2004 as the first international graduate program founded in <a href="http://beasiswabelajar.com/education/tag/japan">Japanese national universities</a>. </strong>IGPAS offers courses in English for <a href="http://beasiswabelajar.com/education/tag/scholarship">international students</a> who are eager to obtain master’s and doctoral degrees from the Graduate School of Science. It is also aims to <a href="http://beasiswabelajar.com/education/category/japan">educate Japanese students</a> to exert their abilities as internationally-active, professional scientists.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>IGPAS has proudly reserved positions of <a href="http://beasiswabelajar.com/education/beasiswa-luar-negri/master-and-doctoral-scholarship-for-foreign-students-at-osaka-university-by-japanese-government.htm">Japanese government scholarship</a> for its master’s students since its foundation, </strong>and in 2008, IGPAS-Super Doctoral Course (SDC) has been started for doctoral students jointly with the Institute for the International Advanced Research and Education (IIARE) of Tohoku University. Students of IGPAS-SDC benefit from fellowship by IIARE to promote world top-level, interdisciplinary research at the Graduate School of Science.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span id="more-323"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Prospective students will have excellent opportunities to study modern science and conduct cutting-edge research with top-level scientists currently working at Tohoku University.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">IGPAS is a 5-year graduate program as the combination of a 2-year master’s program and a 3-year doctoral program. In the interdisciplinary program, students are affiliated to one of six departments in three groups based on the GCOE programs: (i) Chemistry, (ii) Mathematics, Astronomy, and Physics, and (iii) Earth Science and Geophysics.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The academic year of IGPAS starts in October. The Graduate School of Science will admit at most 20 students each for the master’s and doctoral programs for IGPAS 2009.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As of December, 2008, availability of financial supports for IGPAS 2009 students is as shown below. See 7. FINANCIAL SUPPORT of the appplication booklet for the eligibility requirements.<br />

<p>The Fujitsu Scholarship provides full financial assistance for postgraduate education and cross-cultural management training in the East-West Knowledge Leaders Program (EWKLP) to participants from the Asia-Pacific region. Fujitsu Limited established the Fujitsu Scholarship Program in 1985 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its founding.</p>
<p>The EWKLP has a three-month curriculum, which synthesizes the best practices of both the East and West. You will sharpen your global management knowledge and skills, and build the confidence necessary for success in global business situations.</p>

It is intended to provide an opportunity to fully qualified citizens of ADB developing member countries to pursue postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related areas to attend academic institutions in the Asia-Pacific region. ADB-JSP enrolls about 300 students annually in 20 academic institutions located in 10 countries within the region.</p>
<p>Asian Institute of Management is one of institutions participating in this ADB-JSP scholarship program.</p>

<p>* A national of an ADB borrowing member country (applicants from countries that are no longer borrowing from ADB are not eligible for the ADB-JSP Scholarship).<br />

* A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with superior academic record.<br />
* At least two (2) years of full-time professional working experience<br />
* Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills to be able to pursue studies.<br />
* Not more than 35 years old at the time of application.<br />
* In good health.<br />
* Should agree to return to his/her home county after completion of studies under the Program.<br />
* Staff of participating academic institutions are not eligible for the Scholarship.<br />
* Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of ADB, consultants, and relatives of the aforementioned are not eligible for the Scholarship.<br />
* Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of the other international organizations are not eligible for the Scholarship.<br />

Funded by the Government of Japan</p>
<p>Qualified citizens of developing member countries of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), who intend to persue postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields are invented to apply for scholarships under the Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program. Upon successful completion of the graduate program, the scholars are expected to return to their countries and contribute to its socioeconomic development. Scholar-ships are awarded for graduate studies at designated institutions in courses of study approved by ADB. The Program especially welcomes qualified women applicants who have limited financial means to obtain university education.</p>

<p>This scholarship program is offered to the following students, who are still in home country before departure to Japan:</p>

Natural Science or Engineering except medical, dental and veterinary.</p>

<p><em>5. Scholarship grant</em></p>
<p>(1) Stipend: 150,000 yen per month<br />
(2) Matriculation fee, tuition fee: max.2,500,000 yen.<br />
(3) Housing allowance: at large city, max. 40,000 yen per month. other city, max. 20,000 yen per month.<br />
(4)Family allowance: if spouse lives together in Japan and he/she has no source of income: 20,000 yen per month.<br />
(5)Travel expense: A round-trip air ticket, economy class.</p>
<p><em>6. Application</em></p>
<p>All application shall require recommendation from the university mentioned above and shall be accepted through the university in Japan. Applicants are required to start preparation at least one year prior to his/her departure from home country to Japan.</p>
<p><em>7. Number of scholarship winners</em></p>
<p>7 students per year.<br />
(7 universities mentioned above shall recommend 1 student each every year.)</p>
